As the Assistant Director of Operations at Baylor Women’s Basketball, Micah Odom gets to wear many different hats in her role. From travel logistics to student-athlete matriculation, donor relations, and more, Odom balances her responsibilities with being an optimistic and compassionate support system for her student-athletes. 

Building Trust and Rapport with Her Student-Athletes

She emphasizes the importance of recognizing them as individuals with lives beyond the basketball court.

“Well before they are an athlete, they are humans that want to be known and loved. So I do that by caring genuinely about the things that they care about, celebrating their successes on and off the court. Managing Logistics: One Hub

One tool that significantly streamlines her tasks is Teamworks Hub, the one place for all team-related activities. “I’m really grateful that we get to use Teamworks at Baylor because it’s a one-stop shop,” Micah shares. “I don’t have to go looking in a million places for all the information that I need. It’s just kind of all in one hub.”

Among the features she finds indispensable are the Forms and Travel features. “I tend to find myself using forms quite a bit, especially for meals,” she notes. “And then I also really love the travel feature because you can do anything from adding vendors to tagging certain people. It’s really user-friendly, and it makes my job so much easier.”
