As the 12th fastest player in Major League Baseball, Jake McCarthy likes getting important team information the way he likes to steal bases, quickly and effectively.

Just Check Teamworks: All-in-One App

The Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder keeps his Teamworks notifications on so he can easily see schedule updates, travel plans and operational tasks all from his home screen. Whether it was the Diamondbacks Sr. Director of Travel sending the itinerary for the World Series road schedule or training staff scheduling physicals for upcoming Spring Training, team information is coming through a trusted channel.

“It’s nice to have it all in one app. It’s the one-stop for just about everything I need.” – Jake McCarthy, Arizona Diamondbacks Outfielder

Jake McCarthy knows that no matter what he needs from the Diamondbacks, the staff is available and responsive through the Teamworks app. From the clubbies to coaches and managers to the front office staff, “just about everyone in our organization has some sort of account,” McCarthy shared. “It’s really hard for any information to fall through the cracks. I feel like I’m always on the same page with the people I work with.”

This connected communication system allows the Dbacks staff to share the latest on-field and off-field information at the touch of a button with all of their players.

“Teamworks Hub makes communicating with the team incredibly simple and fast. I can get the players the latest details at a moment’s notice. Instead of fielding texts from 26 different guys about what time the plane is leaving, all the info they need is available when they want it.” – Roger Riley, Sr. Director Team Travel & Clubhouse

Hub: One Constant from the Minors to the Majors

The 2023 National League Champion Diamondbacks, among most MLB teams, provide not just their 40-man roster players with Teamworks accounts, but their entire minor league system. So when a player makes their MLB debut with the Dbacks, his jersey might change, but his Teamworks app remains constant.

“It’s nice there’s not really a huge transition period. If you go up to the bigs or down to the minors, you’re still hearing from the same managers, clubbies, and travel secretaries telling you when the bus leaves or the lineup for tomorrow,” McCarthy said. “If there are any changes, say a game gets rained out or something happens before we all get to the field, you’re familiar with all the people you’ve been communicating with all year. ” – Jake McCarthy, Arizona Diamondbacks Outfielder

McCarthy debuted against the Philadelphia Phillies, whose stadium is a short two-hour car ride from where he grew up. Right after he got the call from his AAA manager, he found all the information he needed in Hub to prepare for his debut with pitching lineups and hotel information, and even how to get his family and friends situated with tickets and parking.

“It’s all laid out. I can easily find the link for batting practice passes,” McCarthy said. “So if someone last minute says, ‘Hey, we’d love to come see you play. Can you put me down for a ticket or batting practice pass?’ it’s all right there.”
