Kansas Athletics Commit to Teamworks to Cultivate Student-Athlete Engagement
The Jayhawks use Teamworks to emphasize athletic and academic achievement for student-athletes across 16 sports.
DURHAM, NC – [Thursday May 14, 2020] – Teamworks, the leading athlete engagement platform for collegiate and professional organizations, is pleased to announce a partnership with the University of Kansas Athletics. The Jayhawks leverage Teamworks to build strong communication and centralize the flow of information regarding student-athlete services. In addition to Teamworks’ core offerings, Kansas will leverage Teamworks Academics to improve the academic success of all student-athletes.
“Kansas Athletics is proud to partner with Teamworks in an effort to streamline our student-athlete services while providing coaching and administrative resources for all student-athletes, coaches and staff,” said David Reed, Senior Associate Athletics Director – Compliance & Student Services. “Our seamless transition to Teamworks has allowed us to build strong communication, work efficiently to provide reminders and essential resources, and ultimately foster a culture of accountability between our administration, coaches and our student-athletes. Teamworks has given us an easy-to-use one-stop-shop for all forms, calendars, and information that our student-athletes, coaches, and staff need to be successful.”
Kansas joins more than 2,000 NCAA Division I departments and teams that partner with Teamworks. The Jayhawks use Teamworks to reach athletes through a mobile app on their smartphone. The centralization through Teamworks allows for minimal distractions to set student-athletes up for success in both the classroom and on the field.
“Teamworks provides a simple and efficient way to reach our student-athletes and staff through an easy-to-navigate app,” said Nicole Corcoran, Executive Associate Athletics Director. “Whether we need to reach all our student-athletes with a health and safety update or reach out to individual teams for scheduling efforts, all can be done with a few clicks. Teamworks gives us an interactive way to communicate with both student-athletes and staff quickly and efficiently. It’s a great app that is user-friendly for all.”
With Teamworks Academics, Kansas athletics will also simplify the logistics around academic support to improve outcomes for their 16 sports. Academic advisors will gain better insights into student-athlete calendars, minimizing no-shows and cancellations while also more effectively matching tutors and student-athletes based on subject, schedule and need.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kansas to our Teamworks family and provide our new Academics tool to the Jayhawk student-athletes,” said Zach Maurides, CEO and Founder of Teamworks. “Streamlined communication and cohesion across an athletic department are imperative, especially in these most recent months. We are proud to provide a platform to Kansas that helps ensure athletic and academic success for all Jayhawk Athletics regardless of if they are on campus or training and studying from remote locations.”
