Valpo Athletics Announces Student-Athlete Experience Support Initiatives, Launches Valpo Exchange

The Valparaiso University Department of Athletics has announced plans for several student-athlete experience support initiatives that will help Valpo student-athletes flourish.

The department has continued its commitment to offering an extraordinary student-athlete experience with these initiatives. Plans will be executed beginning this summer and next fall in the areas of mental health, graduation incentives and name, image and likeness.

In conjunction with INFLCR, Valpo Athletics has also announced the launch of the Valpo Exchange, a new platform that will allow businesses and student-athletes to connect regarding name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities.

“We are thrilled to grow our partnership with INFLCR through the addition of the local exchange,” Director of Athletics Dr. Charles Small said. “This platform will help our student-athletes maximize their NIL opportunities. This will provide a central marketplace for student-athletes to build relationships by engaging directly with local businesses. The addition of the local exchange will make a positive impact on our student-athlete experience while also serving as a valuable resource for businesses and community members.”

The Valpo Exchange is a free service to Valpo student-athletes and the commercial enterprises who use it. The tool will help Valpo Athletics manage NIL reporting while providing approved businesses, collectives and individuals with a customized portal for communicating with student-athletes engaging in NIL transactions.

Those businesses, individuals or collectives interested in being part of the Valpo Exchange can register by clicking this link. Once approved, they will be able to access a searchable database of Valpo student-athletes. Valparaiso University and INFLCR will not be involved in NIL negotiations. Brand-focused activities with student-athletes must be permissible under Indiana law and follow the Valparaiso University NIL institutional policy.

Valpo Athletics has also announced a virtual question-and-answer session to discuss the Valpo Exchange that will take place on Monday, March 27 from 11 a.m. to noon Central Time via zoom. Director of Athletics Dr. Charles Small and representatives from the INFLCR team will provide additional details on the Valpo Exchange and answer questions from businesses, collectives and individuals who are interested in participating. The INFLCR team will also be part of the town hall and will educate businesses and individuals on INFLCR and the local exchange platform.
