UMass Amherst Prioritizes Transparency & Accountability

UMass Amherst Prioritizes Transparency & Accountability With Teamworks Partnership

UMass will instill the mobile communication mechanisms of Teamworks across the department’s 21 varsity sports.

DURHAM, NC – [Wednesday, July 28, 2021] – Teamworks, the leading athlete engagement platform for collegiate and professional organizations, is pleased to announce an expanded partnership with the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Through the partnership, UMass will leverage Teamworks to standardize athletics information sharing and provide student-athletes with a centralized platform to receive scheduling information, updated processes and procedures, electronic paperwork, and more.

“We are very excited to once again partner with Teamworks across our entire athletics department,” said Ryan Bamford, UMass Director of Athletics. “Our football program experienced success using the platform during the last year, and we are looking forward to equipping all of our sport programs with this innovative technology.”

In partnership with Teamworks in February 2021, the Minuteman football program launched a new mobile app exclusively for alumni that provided former players with access to:

  • Up to date information and important announcements about the program
  • Behind-the-scenes, exclusive content
  • A convenient space to connect with and communicate with former players and coaches
  • Team schedules, events, ticket information and more

UMass joins more than 2,000 NCAA Division I departments and teams that partner with Teamworks and will bring the app’s mobile communication and operations capabilities to more than 600 student-athletes across 21 varsity sports.

The Minutemen and Minutewomen compete in the Atlantic 10, Hockey East and CAA, while football competes as an independent in NCAA DI FBS. UMass joins Virginia Commonwealth as the second A-10 institution to implement Teamworks department-wide.

“We are excited to bring the Teamworks platform and its mobile capabilities to every team and student-athlete at UMass,” said Zach Maurides, CEO and Founder of Teamworks.

“In the last year, we have seen how critical it is for teams to remain nimble to changing circumstances and for departments to prioritize seamless communication from the top down. With the Teamworks platform, coaches and staff at UMass can be ensured they have the tools to quickly adjust schedules and processes as needed while also being able to efficiently communicate those updates in real time to their athletes.”
