INFLCR is excited to announce a new partnership with Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) Athletics. OBU is the first NCAA Division II school to join INFLCR with a multi-sport agreement.
“OBU has a tremendous athletics tradition with 33 national championships, but as a fairly new member of NCAA Division II, it was important for us to find innovative ways to strengthen and expand our brand at this level,” said OBU Associate Athletics Director Brian Dude.
“Our student-athletes are among the best ambassadors we have for our department and university. We wanted to find a new way to empower them to share their personal story, as well as contribute to the collective story about what we’re building here at OBU.”
OBU joined Division II in 2017, and has continued to excel in athletics since. This year OBU was ranked 39th in the Learfield Cup Standings (up 11 rankings, from 50th at the end of the 2017-2018 year).
“We’re very proud of the trajectory of all of our programs since completing the transition to Division II,” said OBU Director of Athletics Robert Davenport.
“This partnership with INFLCR allows us to share the great things happening on Bison Hill with an even broader audience.”
The INFLCR platform and mobile app will allow the Bison to send their athletic department’s creative media (photos, videos, graphics, etc) to OBU athletes, coaches, and other brand ambassadors, amplifying the reach of athletic news on Bison Hill.
At INFLCR, it’s a big deal for us to start working with our first Division II school, as OBU will be leading the charge and demonstrating that promoting student-athlete brands and harnessing the power of social media are important at all levels of competition.
“As a former D2 student-athlete, I know the blue collar mentality of playing college sports at this level,” said INFLCR Founder & CEO Jim Cavale.
“I also know the many ways I’ve been able to leverage both the platform and the relationships from my baseball playing days at the University of Montevallo in my career as an entrepreneur and business owner. And social media was just in its infantile stages back then.
For Oklahoma Baptist to be the first D2 program to adopt INFLCR, it’s special. I know it’s just the beginning of a big push in the 2019-20 athletic year for INFLCR to serve more schools in this realm.”
How It Works
INFLCR’s platform helps clients like Oklahoma Baptist University send internal media and national photography content to personalized galleries for each of their athletes, coaches and other brand ambassadors.
Those athletes and brand ambassadors are able to access their content galleries through the INFLCR mobile app, and can then share the content to their personal social media accounts.
After the fact, OBU is able to measure the increased audience engagement coming from the much-larger collective audience of those athletes and brand ambassadors.
OBU plans to use this approach to bolster their online presence in a way that impacts event attendance, recruiting, fundraising, and other strategic goals.
