Kevin CasseseSmith Family Head CoachMen's LacrosseLehigh UniversityWhat was your initial reaction to Teamworks? This is what I’ve been waiting for. At the time, it was so hard to quickly and efficiently communicate and keep track of our team. The day we were introduced to Teamworks, I had millions of notes on my desk, trying to track my team's calendars and schedules. When I saw how all of that clutter was about to go away, I had one of those light bulb moments. I thought, “This is going to make my life so much easier as a coach and a manager of people."How have your staff and athletes responded to using Teamworks? They reacted the same way I did. They all love Teamworks. My staff and my athletes love the fact that it is web-based and convenient for them to access right from their phone. My staff enjoys how easy it is to communicate with the athletes, and the athletes love how easy it is to stay informed. What improvements have you seen in your team since implementing Teamworks? Teamworks has made our team better overall. It has allowed us to save valuable time with quick and swift communication. It enables our staff to quickly compare performance metrics to previous tests and other players. We can also better monitor and hold our players accountable for going to class and getting to their appointments. Our program just runs more effectively. As a coach no matter where I go, if I’m starting a new program, or just starting in a new place, I would never do it without Teamworks.Do you have a favorite part of the Teamworks platform? It's hard to say I have just one. I use messaging daily, to give updates and instructions for practice. We use the metrics module a ton, because we have multiple checkpoints with all of the different combine tests that we do. And lastly, the schedule makes it so easy to know when our guys may have an academic conflict when we are scheduling for meetings, shooting sessions and lifts. How would you describe the value of Teamworks?I’ve talked to different coaches along the way who have asked me about Teamworks, and I've told them it falls into my “non-negotiable” category. It’s a must-have. If you’re a manager of people in the athletic world and you want to do your job as effectively and efficiently as possible, you need Teamworks. It’s just the way it works. There is value in the time saved, better academics, better metrics, higher energy and more time to spend on other things. The value is felt in so many different areas that it just becomes a no-brainer.
